I have found this short simple animation on youtube and it inspired me how the style have been used and movement of characters also the background. The animation looks good because its not meant to be professional. The style of the animation is achievable because the animation is very simple also the background.
Animating the snake wasn't good because the tail should be lower it looks like the tail is on the air.
Ferdinand The Bull 1938
This image is very interesting because the foreground looks very different from background. This image inspired me to make my own background that i will be using for my final animation. The style of 'Ferdinand The Bull' animation looks more like Disney.
I really like the style of this animation because the animals look so realistic and cartoonish. It’s like two styles has been combined together to make it look very interesting. This animation is very helpful because it gave me an idea how the style of my animation going to look like and also I have learnt some movements of Bulls.
Goofy Cartoon ★ For Whom the Bulls Toil
This style is more cartoonish but the background looks more realistic and well detailed. The Bull uses the technique squash and stretch to show how angry the bull is.
Here you can see the differences between the two animations. The technique stretch has been used in both animation to show the anger. Both animation uses similar style but in 'Ferdinand The Bull' bright colours has been used and whereas in 'Goofy Cartoon' mostly grew colour has been used.
I really enjoy animating animals and i started to look at Dolphin and their movements.I also started to look at the relationships between Dolphins and human.

Animatic

This is a screenshot of a leaf falling from the tree
This is another scene of a leaf falling but it has no background because i want to show the movement of the leaf.
I have used this technique to get the movement of the leaf right.

This is a close up shot of the leaf on the water.
The deer walking forward

The deer standing and looking at the leaf.

I have made this dolphin in Flash.

Here the deer sees the dolphin coming for the leaf.I need to make the ground more realistic where the deer is standing.

The deer and dolphin meet (brief Encounter)
Mood board & visualization
I was going to use this for my final animation but there are some problems because everything looks on the foreground maybe i can take this to photoshop and try to make it right.
Japanese style
Here I have looked at
Famous Periods of Japanese Art
- Jomon and Yayoi periods
- Yamato period
- Heian period
- Kamakura period
- Muromachi period
- Azuchi-Momoyama period
- Edo period
- Prewar period
- Postwar period
I'm going to make an advert for WWF telling people to stop whaling. Why
WWF? Because I love nature and animals, I can't see animals getting extinct
because of human being. The story starts by a Deer walking straight then
it stops and looks at the camera. The views will think the Deer is looking at
them but it looks at the leaf. The Deer spots the leaf falling into the water
and it goes after it. When the Deer gets closer to the leaf then the Deer sees
a rope moving. The Deer looks at the rope and sees a Whale is captured. Then
the Deer helps the Whale to escape. After that the Whale jumps up to show how
thankful he is. End of the animation I’m going to put a poster there saying ‘stop
whaling’
Looking at characters

Here I have looked how Nagasawa Rosetsu draws animals. The animals looks very simple and light.
Moodboards

I have made these mood boards in Photoshop and just changed the colours and textures.
Blue whale
I have done brain mapping about endangered animals. I have choosen Blue Whale because I don't want to see one of the biggest animal in the world getting extinct.
Here I have looked at WWF.
For my animation I will be using endangered animal like Blue Whale because in Japanese people are hunting them down and I think it's wrong that's the main reason for my animation. The animation will be about releasing the whale and also they will have a brief encounter, which mets the brief.

Robert Wyland
Robert Wyland, commonly known as Wyland, is an American artist best known for his 100 Whaling Walls.
TAILS OF GREAT WHALES
I have looked at Blue whale and have done sketches.
Mood boards

(Making my own background)
Name of painting: Ode on the Red Cliff
Artist: Nagasawa Rosetsu (Japanese, 1754–1799)
Period: Edo period (1615–1868)
This painting inspired me to the way it has been painted because it looks so simple and i really like the way the color has been used.
I have looked at another painting by different artist Ogata Kōrin (Japanese, 1658–1716)
Period: Edo period (1615–1868)
Name of painting:Rough Waves
I'm really interested in this painting because I love the way how the artist uses shadow of the waves.

background 1

This was my first idea to show how the background will look like but I didn't like the style because it looks simple.
I'm using old Japanese style.

Here I have started to make my own background for my animation. This is my 1st background that I will be using for my animation. I have created this background by looking at my first idea. This is where the Deer walks in and looks at the camera.
Background 2

Here is my idea where the Deer will be placed.
This is my 2nd background for my final animation. This background looks more like Edo period because Nagasawa Rosetsu inspired me to make my own one.In this background the the Deer will watch the leaf falling down.I have created this background by looking at the 1st background. This is how it will look from the other side of the 1st background it means I just changed the angel (side view) and created new background.
Background 3
That's the front view of the 2nd background. This is where the Deer walks in. I have used a tree stump to show that people are cutting down the trees. That means Animals and Nature is endanger.
Background 4

This is how it will look like from the behind of the 3rd background. This is a back view to show the whale tail.
Background 5
This is how it looks from the right view of the 4th background. This is where the Deer and the Whale look at each others.
Deer
I have used this rig to animate the Deer. I have made the deer pause in places. I have moved to Deer to main keyframes thenI just drawn the in-betweens.
Rope
I used red coloured rope to represent danger. When the Deer looks at the rope he knew someone is in trouble.
Meeting point
This is where the both character meets.
WWF Poster
This is how the animation ends.I have made this poster to show small to big whales are getting extinct.
Final Animation
Overall I think the animation is good because it goes with my brief and that's how i wanted to make my animation.By adding the sound it made it more interesting because the animation meant to make people sad and think that animals are getting extinct.
